Education has always been accepted as a powerful and effective medium to enhance the productivity of individuals besides its other roles in any society. The National Policy on Education INPEY-1986 reiterated the concept of Work Education as purposive and meaningful manual work, organized as an integral part of learning process and resulting in either goods or service useful to the community. The policy has in addition, visualized pre-vocational programmes at the lower secondary stage. The content in this book is upto date fmportant recommendation of various education commision communities and communication has been incorporated thoroughly. The book comprises five chapters viz. Concept and Importance of Work Education; Work Education: History and Scope; Pedagogy of Work Education, Evaluation in Work Education: Work Education Activities along DELEd question paper and Bibliography. Wherever possible. I have tried to give statements from original sources of NCERT documents, SCERT documentrand different books as mentioned in the Bibliography

L.P. Singh was born in 1945 in a Village Aftari near Muktsar District, Punjab. He pinsert B.Sc. BEd (four year integrated course) from Regional College of Education, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in the year 1970 with third poution the ment Int from Vilom University, Lijain. He did his Masters degree in physics (M.Sc. Physics from Abopal University in 1972. He also did Diploma Educational Planning and Admin (DEPA) from National Institute of Educational Planoong and Administration Deiki in 1990 Metod his carect it Eurer in Physics or Rhopal and as a Science Teacher in Directorate of Education, Delhi.

He was Senior Lecturer and Head of Work Experience Department in District Institute of Education (DIET) of Delhi for sixteen years. He organized a number of teachers training programmes and completed many projects. He was deputed by SCERT, Delhi as one of the authors of Science books for Class VI to VIII published by Delhi Text Book Bureau, Directorate of Education. N.CT of Delhi. He has more than thirty three years of experience as a Lecturer, Teacher, Educator and Administrator. He had also worked as Principal (Officiating) of District Institute of Education and Training. Moti Bagh, New Delhi. He has been honoured by Silver Medal from President of India, Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Census of India in 1981.
