First of all, it is with deep sense of indebtness and gratitude for the almishty God without his blessings this monumental task would not have been possible. Its due to his blessings only I have been able to introduce the present book- Teacher Education for the benefit of graduate and post-graduate students of Education. The main aim of compiling this book is to meet the requirement of M.Ed. students of various Indian universities. Care has been taken to bring up the subject matter up-to-date keeping in view the latest researches on the subject. Every attempt has also been made to write it in a simple and lucid manner.

The author lay no claims no originality in the preparation of the book. It is a compilation work done in a manner in which it would prove useful to the reader.

All suggestions to improve the book will be thankfully accepted. This book has been written keeping in mind the M.Ed. level curriculum of various Indian Universities.

The success story remains incomplete without thanking my caring and loving brother. Dr. Ravi Kant who supports and guides me in every step of my life and for his continuous encouragement.
