Preface

Teaching is an art, but in the present era teaching is called a science as it is a collection of many skills and these skills are learned by way of practice. “Practice makes a man perfect”. Microteaching is a good method of practice of teaching skills.

“No system of education can rise higher than the level of its teachers” is a notion which still holds good in the present century. In the wake of the recommendation of NEP1986, NCF, NEP 2020, it is most relevant that concentrated and organized efforts are needed at all levels to initiate efforts for bringing in reforms in teacher education. Among many factors the most important is the paucity of the relevant literature in the field. It is hoped that the present book shall prove a milestone in this direction.

The author strongly feels that the book with all its limitations shall prove to be of much help to all teacher educators, teachers in general and student of education in particular and all those who in one way or the other are concerned with the task of improving teacher education in the country.
