Education has always an effective medium to enhance the output and capability of an individual. The NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAME WORK (NCF) 2005 emphasized that art is the best medium to teach another concept of subjects.
Psychologists are also of the opinion that fine motor skills and gross motor skills are the best way to enhance the holistic development of child. Art helps to better development of intellectual capability of an individual.
Therefore, it is important that every pupil teacher who is studying in various teachers training institutes is familiar about this art education. The student teacher is expected to integrate the art with other subjects. The present curriculum of D.ELED course in Art Education has been designed to integrate with the content areas of Social-science, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education and which help them to understand the need for involving community and utilizing community resources. This book has been written for the students who are pursuing diploma in elementary education in various teachers training institutes and district institutes of education and training run by the various
states of INDIA.
Dr.(Ms.) Rajesh Kumari Gill, has done B.A., B.Ed, M.A. (Fine Arts, Education &
Hindi) and M.Ed. from M.D. University, Rothak. She obtained her Ph.D. (Drawing & Painting) from Rajasthan University Jaipur. As a renowned artist she has won All India Exhibition Award twice. She has been holding various Solo Art Exhibitions in different cities across India. She was member of Art in Education curricular development in NIOS (D.ELED). She has to her credit numerous articles which have been published in journals of repute. She has attended several workshops and seminars at National level. Her several art works were appreciated by the renowned Art critics and Artists of National and International level, through various national newspapers, TV Channels and All India Radio. At present she is working as Assistant Professor in department of education at Maharaja
Surajmal Institute, New Delhi.
