Preface
Today, the system by which research and development leads to new products is fundamentally different than it was in the nineteenth century. Organized research and development, which are increasingly international in character, have greatly increased the production of new knowledge. The accumulation of scientific knowledge and new technologies has transformed human life.
Keeping in view the above concerns of science and considering the needs of teachers and pupil-teachers of the 21st century this book has been written. The text covers the entire syllabus of teaching science in almost all teacher training institutes.
I hope this book will be very useful for pupil-teachers and for science teachers in particular. I take this opportunity to express my sense of gratitude to the authors of the various books and reports which have been quoted while compiling this book. Views of various committees, commissions etc. have been given at proper places to emphasise certain points.
Any suggestions for improving the content of the book will be highly appreciated. Suggestions may be given at goggi2006@gmail.com
