This book “School Management and Administration” is designed as per the revised syllabus prescribed by “Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University’ B.Ed Course, which will not only meet the needs of the target group, but also be found equally useful by all those working towards improving the knowledge of School Management and Administration. Most of the material has been drawn from our notes and from other different sources. It includes five units the focus of the units are the Analysis of School Management, Approaches of Managements, Educational Administration, School Administration and Financing Process in India.

This book is basically an attempt to identify the merits and demerits of different management approaches in school management and administration. The course also focuses on the different theories of educational management. It is expected that, after going through this course, the teacher will critically reflect on their practice and teach very effectively in schools. This book aims to help readers to make teaching more effective, by attending to learning and the inner mental world of the learner, and by then understanding how classroom activities and teacher decisions can create, or limit, children’s opportunities for learning.

It is, therefore, hoped that the book will not only satisfy the requirements of syllabi of the NCTE in general and the different universities of India in particular, but will also provide useful reading to all those teachers and administrators, who are seeking guidance for better Educational Administration, it is written in simple language and is supported with examples drawn from day-to-day life experiences.
