About the Book
The book gives a very comprehensive view of Philosophical Perspectives of Education. The major objectives of this book is to provide understand the Epistemo-logical basis of Education. Theory of Knowledge, the various Learner-centric Curricular Perspectives, examine the basis of Social Context, understand the link between School and Social Progress. Educative Process, the Evolution of Disciplines and Knowledge and School Subjects, and understand the Theory of Content and Framing the Syllabus. Our approach in educating prospective teachers is to guide them to follow the standards set by NCTE with special emphasis on recent curriculum of teacher education based on NCF-2005 & NCFTE-2009.
About the Authors
Dr. V. Srinivas has done Post Graduate studies in Philosophy, Psychology and Education and awarded Ph.D in Education from Osmania University. He is qualified UGC-NET in Psychology and Education. He has presented over ten papers in State, National and International Seminars and Conferences. Published Five Research Articles in National Journals and Magazines, Authored/Co-authored Ten Books and Participated actively in over Fifty Workshops on Academics. Awarded as Best Teacher for Innovative and Creative Teaching and working as a Teacher Educator for over Two Decades and presently working as Lecturer in Education (Selection Grade) in Grant- in-Aid Post in NSR College of Education, Hyderabad.
Dr. Kadem Srinivas is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Extension Education at Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer, which is a constituent unit of NCERT. He has Doctorate Degree in Education from Centre of Advanced Study in Education (CASE), The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. He did his Master of Education from Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysuru and qualified UGC-NET in Education. His areas of interest are Teacher Education, Philosophy of Education, and Science Education.
Dr. Rashmi Srivastava is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer, which is a constituent unit of NCERT. She completed her Doctoral Work as UGC-JRF in Education from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. She holds Post Graduate Degrees in Political Science, English Literature, and Education. She has actively participated in many National and International Seminars, Conferences. and Workshops. She has also published papers in reputed journals
Dr. Yugendar Nathi is currently working as a Lecturer at the University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from O.U. and pursuing another Ph.D. in Education from O.U. He has two post-graduation degrees, one is an M.A. in Philosophy from OU, Hyderabad, and the other an M.Ed. From Kakatiya University, Warangal. He is specialized in Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education, Western Philosophy, Moral Philosophy, Social Philosophy and Teacher Education. He has qualified NET-JRF (UGC) in Education as well as in Philosophy. He has presented more than 20 papers in National and International Seminars and Conferences and published more than 10 articles in National and International journals
