The purpose of this book is to arm the student with the necessary ideas and methods, so that when mathematical elements appear in other courses, one can tackle them wuh confidence, possibly with further independent study into specialized areas. Its major role is to su crystallize, enhance and give a forward orientation to the mathematical methods taught in teacher training curriculum, with projections to future requirements
This book “Pedagogy of Mathematics” is written based on the recommendations of NCF- 2005 and NCFTE-2009. As the NCF-2005 emphasizes that children’s experience of School Education must be linked with the life outside the school, so that learning experience is joyful. The NCFTE-2009 also emphasized the innovative method of teaching and is pedagogy is from teachers and experts to a more student centered approach where the teacher facilities learning. By keeping these changes in the curriculum and based on these recommendations of NCF-2005& NCFTE-2009, an attempt has been made to assist you in your pursuit the enhancement of effectiveness, excellence, diversity and creativity in the area of teaching learning of mathematics.
This book focuses on Teaching of Mathematics which will be used for the professional preparation of teachers for teaching mathematics at secondary level. This also helps for the professional development of teachers teaching at secondary level and people who are associated with mathematics teaching, the learning of mathematics based on the content categorized as concepts, facts and generalizations. We know that learning mathematics involves mathematical principles, formulae and mathematical generalization. This book is designed to meet the challenges of learning by using constructivist pedagogy as focused in National Curriculum Framework 2005 (NCF-2005).
