Preface

The concept ‘Guidance and Counselling’ believes in global trends of Educational transformation. The Psychological aspect of Guidance and Counselling gets its lead from National Curriculum Framework-2005. The aim of Guidance and Counselling is not just to let learners to obtain basic knowledge but to make them life-long learners. The Central University [Pondicherry] always enforce the updation of syllabus to make it more relavant with educational transformation and in last few years the chapters and topics which our University adds are very interesting and in turns increases the practical applicability of Learners.

The Guidance and Counselling textbook are designed to nurture individuality and thus, enhance one’s innate potentials which helps in increasing the self study for learners. This book strengthens knowledge and attitude related to the subject. It is designed in such a way the learners can set their own goals and can improve their problem solving and thinking skills.

The journey of this book is never ending and it will be renovated with the updating syllabus from time to time. Also the book [Authors] encourage the reader’s feedback and review, which will further increase the efficiency of the textbook.
