PREFACE
This world is a divine creation with a pancreatic look, we go deep into the crowd and contours of life on this planet. Human creation is perhaps, the outcome of amcha or its origin as per the biblical story of Adam and Eve. The former leads to an evolutionary theory where human beings are the highest form having the potential to grow further, and even has the capacity to control as well. Whereas, the latter one, in the language of Sri Aurobindo a great philosopher of the age, surpassing Einstein’s theory of relativity, leads to spiritual consciousness and divinity.
In this background, we all are surrounded by ‘gender lore since we have taken birth on this earth. It is always an integral part of our life for development, relation, harmony, balance, and complementary components in the expression of feminine gender or ‘masculine gender’ ‘female or male’, ‘girl or boy’. All these terms are gendered in the hot blow of our development and change, for their appropriation in the context of tasks, actions, desires, beliefs, and traditions rather apogee of every development, evolution and higher consciousness.
Present technologies, social media, and explosion in knowledge are likely to give new shape to gender in a variety of crucibles and furnaces of human mould and bring out gender-free labels, on the biological structures of human beings.
It gives us immense pleasure to bring out the book, entitled, “Gender, School and Society”. This book in hand, is the outcome of the hard labour of our colleagues, who had a passion to bring out relevant reading material for prospective teachers in colleges of education as per the B.Ed. new course, (two-year) syllabus of Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra Haryana.
We extend our gratitude to all those who have directly or indirectly inspired us to write this book… Our special thanks are due
