Preface to Latest Edition

The authors are feeling clated on presenting this enriched and totally amended version of the book ‘Foundations of Educational Technology’. A total of 40 chapters have been added to this new edition and some old topics have been rewritten with the introduction of new material in them, and they have been fully amended.

This book has made an endeavour to include all data available in books, research papers and research journals up to the recent times.

This book has been divided into eight units. In them, new material in the concepts of educational technology, teaching strategies, common techniques, communication technology, teaching-learning system, systems approach, distance education, modification in teacher behaviour etc. have been included. This book is an outcome of the endeavour to make the book conform to the curricula of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and other universities. The old chapters too have been rewritten completely and their dimensions have been expanded.

In the writing of this edition, the authors have been greatly motivated, inspired, assisted and
