EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (An offshoot of New Education Policy 2020)
Dr S.K. Bhatia is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. After excelling as a student in different institutes, he started as a commerce teacher in President’s Estate School. He also served in the State Institute of Education as a subject specialist (Commerce) for 7 years and as a teacher-educator in the Department of Education (C.LE), Delhi University, where he retired as an associate professor after serving for more than 22 years.
Dr Bhatia authored many books in the areas of Business Management, Financial Accounting and Teacher Education. The present book Experiential Learning-An Offshoot of New Education Policy – (2020) edited by Prof. Dhananjay Joshi, is meant for pre-service students and in-service teachers and is the latest in the series of so many books.
Dr. Bhatia takes a keen interest in writing research papers and articles and many of his papers were
published in some prestigious journals. He also likes to attend and organize educational seminars and
workshops for teachers, teacher-educators and school principals. At present, he is the chief editor of
International Journal of Teacher Education and Teaching published in Chicago, U.S.A.
Prof. Dhananjay Joshi is M.A. (Political Science), B.Ed. & M.Ed. Gold Medallist from CIE, University of Delhi. He has a PhD in Education from the University of Delhi. He got felicitation at the university level for Exemplary Meritorious Achievement from former Prime Minister of India, Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in the year 1994. He is a recipient of the Gold Medal of the 26th Youth Parliament Competition held by the Government of India (1992).
Presently, Prof. Joshi is the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Teachers University, New Delhi. Prior to this position, he was the Dean of the University School of Education, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, New Delhi. Earlier he was Head, of the Department of Education, Maharaja Surajmal Institute, New Delhi.
He had been nominated as a Member of the Governing Body of NCTE by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in the year 2020. He was felicitated by the Ministry of Education recently for the Beat COVID campaign 2021. Also, felicitated by APJ Abdul Kalam National Youth Icon Award 2018. He is the recipient of the prestigious S. Radhakrishnan Memorial Award (2008). He was felicitated with Dwarka Srijan Shree Award (2018) and Abhimanch Sahitya Award (2019) for his literary achievements.
He had been President of IP University Teachers Association, and President of Students Council, CIE, University of Delhi. Besides his other credentials, Professor Joshi has published many books including poetry collections. He is also associated with many journals. He has a YouTube channel for promoting his creative and literary ideas. He is a member of several international bodies. He has widely travelled and promoted his ideas on Indian education.
