Preface
In recent times, Entrepreneurship has garnered a lot of attention from eminent scholars, academicians, experts, and field professionals. Several research studies have been undertaken and accomplished on the subject of entrepreneurship and its related aspects. These studies were conducted not only in Business Management but also in other areas such as Healthcare, Engineering, Social Sciences, Arts, Education etc. which have guided our way towards merging entrepreneurial culture with various fields of study and bringing a revolution in such areas.
With the emergence of the National Education Policy, 2020 the key focus of educational outcomes has shifted towards enriching innovative, creative, energetic minds and value- oriented individuals, who can contribute in the economic development of the country. The increased pace of technological development with sheer creativity enables the NEP to promote the development of entrepreneurial perspective and prepare a roadmap for enhancing entrepreneurship culture in the educational institutions of the country.
In 2019, the Government of Delhi launched the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) led by SCERT Delhi for 9th to 12th grade students. The Curriculum aims at nurturing the abilities and powers of the students with an entrepreneurial attitude and enabling them to take charge of their career paths. Similarly, the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are also planning to launch
entrepreneurship curricula in their respective regions. Recently, CBSE has also released a notification to integrate vocational and skill development-based subjects for grade 6th onwards in CBSE Schools. This action aims at enhancing the decision-making abilities of students and empowering them towards making informed choices regarding their career paths.
In view of the above, the present book has been written with two clear objectives, viz. (i) to enable the readers, irrespective of their disciplines to get a clear view of the development of entrepreneurship culture in the country and (ii) to make them familiar with the various elements involved in the development of entrepreneurial culture in academic institutes.
