Preface

Education is a very wide field of study having three kinds of processes namely, teaching, training and instructions. Psychology has made teaching and instruction child centered which in turn will make the teaching learning process effective. Even psychological principles are used to make the teaching learning process effective. The educational process should be effective and economical from time, energy and money point of view. This aspect of education is termed as educational technology.

The use of technology has focus on basic problems of time and space. It has evolved the use of media and multimedia approach to education. As a result an alternative system of education emerged known as distance education. The communication competency has been emphasized in teaching and training situations. In this book basic components of Educational Technology and its Management have been discussed.

The entire content of the book is organized into 28 chapters. The first chapter deals with educational technology, nature and scope. The second chapter describes Communication, its components and strategies and the third and forth deals with Levels of Teaching and Task analysis and fifth with Teaching Models. The next three chapters are on Strategies of Teaching, Microteaching and Flander’s Interaction Analysis, the next three chapters deals with Simulated teaching, Programmed Instruction and Mathetics retrogressive chaining. While next six deal with planning of programmed instruction, Managing, Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling teaching-learning process. Next six deal with Progress of ET in India, ET and NPE, ET research-a status report on classroom application, Research in teaching and instructional technologies, and last six with Educational Technology andnd Formal Education, Distance Education, Computer Education, Media Evaluation and Research, Teleconferencing and Designing of Self Instructional Material. All the chapters are written in a simple and easy style. It will help B.Ed., M.Ed students as well as those interested in this subject.
