About the Book

The book “Educational Psychology” is designed to meet the requirements of the students as well as teachers of the B.Ed course, students of education faculty and psychology at undergraduate level. It scans the necessary course topics to meet the challenges for success. It is to comprehend the concepts and theories in a lucid way. It helps the teachers and students to understand childhood and adolescents from their social, emotional and intellectual perspective. The development perspectives, intelligence, creativity and individual differences, learning and motivation, personality and mental health are incorporated with required information. As per the NCTE new guidelines attempt has been made to explain the basic concepts and principles. It is expected to be user friendly for the students and teachers to perceive and enable them, underlying principles in the classroom situations.

About the Authors

Prof. G.K. Nanda, D.Litt (Utkal) is a former Principal of Kamala Nehru Women’s College, Bhubaneswar. He started teaching psychology since 1975, has supervised doctoral dissertations and has published several books and research monographs. His research interests include Psycho-educational Studies of the Disadvantaged Children, Personality, Peer Relations and Child Rearing Style.

Dr. Pranati Satapathy, Ph.D. is currently working as Assistant Professor at Post Graduate Department of Psychology, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha, India. She began her career in Higher Education as a Lecturer in Psychology in 2004 Teaching Psychology to Honours students at different undergraduate colleges under Utkal University and Post Graduate level since 2011 at Ravenshaw University. She has attended and contributed research and popular papers at several National and International Seminars. Dr. Satapathy’s research focuses on motivation and cognition Health Psychology, Statistics, Specifically Stress, Coping Style, Educational Psychology and Student-teacher Efficacy.

Dr. K. Srinivas Reddy, completed his M.A. (English), M.Sc (Psychology) in Kakatiya University and Ph.D in Psychology from Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati. Apart from multi-disciplinary academic background, Dr. Reddy has varied experience in training teachers. He has authored D.El.Ed and B.Ed books related to academics. He has participated and presented papers in 2 International and 11 National conferences and published 8 research papers in National and International Journals. He has been honoured with Best Paper Award at Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunam, Ernakulam District, Kerala, India for the session on “Tools and Techniques in Human Resource Management” in the International Conference on “Applied Psychology in Transforming Education and Management Sciences in the Context of Globalization”.
