Preface

This book “Childhood and Development Years” has been particularly designed and planned, to meet the need and requirements of the students of B.Ed. strictly as the prescribed syllabus of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. It will prove a panacea to the average students and a big help to students of high potential and calibre as it unravels the problems related to the syllabus and offers a solution in lucid language with illustrations and examples.

This book contains descriptive content on all the topics of this paper. It is organized into four units and eighteen chapters.

I am extremely beholden to my respected teachers, especially  B.Ed. and M.Ed., my parents and I am grateful to the publisher and authors of Psychological Foundations of Psychology, whose work helped me in collecting material and in preparing the book. I especially thank my wife Mrs. Geeta Thakur who took full responsibility of the household work and regarding the study of my daughters Niyati and Navya, when I was busy in the collection of material for this book. I am extremely grateful to various writers whose work I have consulted and quoted in certain places in this book.

Finally, the book provides an evaluation at the end of each chapter for the benefit of the students.
