The book Child Development provides an introduction to the basics of various aspects of development in simple and clear language. This book is based on D.El.Ed. curriculum and is presented in a precise manner with appropriate explanation and discussion on the topics of prescribed syllabus for child development. Each chapter of this book will acquaint the trainees with the basic concepts, issues with child development and will help to build the foundation for understanding their students and enhance their teaching experience. This book is also catered the needs of prospective teachers, parents, teachers and professionals working in the area of child development, who have passion to study child development with the objective of having thorough understanding of various stages and aspects of child development i.e. moral, physical, social, cognitive and emotional aspects.

Dr. B.K. Pal is Ph.D. in two disciplines; first one is in Psychology from Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar (Uttarakhand) and second one is in Education from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He holds Post Graduate degree in three Disciplines Psychology, Education and Economics & cleared UGC-NET examination in Education. He also did Post Graduate Diploma in Educational, Vocational Guidance & Counselling from NCERT, New Delhi.

Dr. Pal started his career as a Project Fellow with NCERT. He was formerly associated with All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai as an Additional Lecturer for 5%½ years under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Presently he is working with SCERT, New Delhi as a Senior Lecturer (IFIIC) and posted at DIET (East), Karkardooma, Delhi. He has been providing his input to the field of Teacher Education, Educational Psychology and Research in Education and Psychology since 1998.

Ms. Yashika Bhutani (MA, M.Ed., UGC NET) is working with SCERT, Delhi as a Lecturer (PSTE) at DIET Pitampura. She started her career as a Project Fellow from NCERT. She has teaching experience in the areas of Child Development, Psychological Perspectives of Education and Process of Children Learning. She has attended many workshops/seminars held in the field of Education.
