Origin Story
In the 1960s, our humble beginnings as religious book vendors at Sawan Kirpal Ashram laid the foundation for a greater mission. Mr. Atma Ram Dogra’s pivotal role as the head of school books at S. Chand Company sparked an evolution. Witnessing the growing demand for educational resources, he ventured into the heartlands of Odisha, Bihar, and rural areas, catering to the burgeoning need for quality books.
Driven by an unwavering commitment, Mr. Atma Ram Dogra charted a new course, establishing a distribution network for Delhi’s colleges. The enterprise took flight with his sheer determination, selling his ancestral land to procure the first Maruti Van that facilitated book distribution across Delhi NCR. Notably, his ethos extended beyond business, contributing to the establishment of libraries in prominent educational institutions such as Gitarattan, FMIT, and the Army Institute, providing books on credit.
Evolution into The Bookman Publishing
Recognizing the pivotal nexus between academic excellence and publishing, Bookman Publishing emerged. Acknowledging the need for experienced professors to share their insights and students’ thirst for knowledge, the company became a conduit for fostering educational advancement.
