Creating An Inclusive School

PREFACE

Education is a process of acquiring knowledge and modification of behaviour as a result of imitation, training and experiences. Most of the children are found to possess average abilities, and potentialities concerning their growth and development in one or the other traits of their personality. However, some children deviate from the normal and need some special care, attention and measures for adequate adjustment, welfare and progress in their lives. These children are designated as children with special educational needs (CWSN). The term CWSN is in fact, quite a comprehensive umbrella term that encompasses all types of children with special needs differing significantly from the normal children. To ensure one’s growth and development and to fulfil individual potential, every child has a right to education. Social, legal and economic bases for inclusion prescribed at international and national levels have been specifically studied and put into a text with great care.
