Children are the most important asset of any society. As members of society, we all work towards seeing them successful in their lives. Early childhood years are the crucial years of an individual’s life when growth and development take place at a very fast pace and foundations for holistic development are laid. Proper stimulating environment should be provided so that all-around development of the child can be achieved.

This book covers all the curriculum provided by the SCERT for the course (DPSE) (Diploma Course in Preschool Education) of subject “Understanding Child and Childhood”.

It also explores child development from genetics, prenatal development and birth through early childhood. All major topics and developmental milestones in each age range are given adequate space and consideration.
